SEEL COMMITTEE 2025

IAN BAREHAM: SEEL CHAIRMAN
Ian’s involvement with the sport spans 50 years as an event organizer, owner and SEEL Chairman.
His involvement started when grooming in his youth whilst grooming for such greats as Colin Wares, Anneli Drummond Hay, Mark Phillips and Lorna Clare and attended major Championships around the world with team GB.
Ian instigated the formation of SEEL with its initial founder Roland Clarke 30 years ago whilst organizer of Crockstead Horse Trials. Ian is a BS course builder and can often be heard commentating at various competitions in the South East

Our resident TV Star and Media Personality, you may recognise Jake from Horse and Country’s ‘All-Star Academy’ or his social media pages ‘Little Bentley Eventing’, where he shares the highs and lows of eventing and life in general. However, Jake promises he is much more than just a pretty face, and has been working with horses since he was 14 years old, gaining his BHSAI qualification when he was just 17. He spent many years as a working groom for all kinds of disciplines, grooming at Badminton and riding up to intermediate level himself. Nowadays, he works fulltime as a metal-worker for the family business, whilst also running his own livery yard, teaching a few clients and producing 1 or 2 event horses of his own. He particularly enjoys working with ‘rehab’ horses – those with less-than-perfect pasts that just need a bit of time and understanding. Whilst Jake enjoys competing, he takes his victories not from results, but from the success of bringing those horses back from an uncertain future, and hopefully gaining a pretty picture or two along the way!

I’m Andrew and I’m treasurer for SEEL. I am an accountant as a day job and was recruited to the committee by my wife when she was eventing in the south east more than 15 years ago. I’m now a horsey dad with my daughter about to start her first eventing season.

Sarah has been totting up the rankings after each Seel event since 2014. She runs her own business and has a thoroughbred she hopes to compete in 2025.

VICTORIA LINDFIELD: COMMITTEE MEMBER
As a Junior I competed in Eventing up to Intermediate and pure Dressage up to PSG, before pursuing a legal career. I now manage a commercial team for a multi national, which includes lots of travel. I continue to enjoy competing at Grassroots level, which saw us winning one of coveted SEEL awards in 2017!

Charlottes eventing journey began with her veteran horse ‘Bob’, when she was trying to find an engaging way to keep him fit and healthy in his older years. The pair enjoyed a couple of seasons at grassroots eventing together before retiring from jumping and focusing on British Dressage instead, a discipline that Charlotte now enjoys most. In recent years, she has worked on backing and producing several young horses, and is hoping to get her 4 year old ‘Winston’ out dancing this year. Charlotte is still involved in BE, attending events/clinics and serving as fellow committee member Jake’s long-suffering unofficial groom/babysitter!

HENTE DORHOUT MEES: COMMITTEE MEMBER
I’m a mother of three, two girls – both riders – and a son who’s a keen cricket player. After starting eventing in later life, which I loved, I have now retired back to dressage. I’m an owner with Sam Sweeney and Jesse Campbell so still very much enjoy the sport with them.
